A collection of minor improvements (May 2026)

A list of the less visible efforts going on behind the scenes during May at Pagecord.

  • Custom CSS now supports, er, @supports, initial-letter and -webkit-initial-letter
  • "Search Engine Visibility" in Blog Settings is now called "Discoverability" because unchecking it discourages search engines and also prevents your blog from appearing in Spotlight and Shuffle.
  • You can no longer (incorrectly!) access Pagecord admin via yoursubdomain.pagecord.com/app or yourcustomdomain.com/app.
  • Pages now correctly appear in sitemaps 🤦‍♂️
  • Pages can now be marked as hidden so they can be opted out of appearing in sitemaps.
  • For paying customers, there's now a link on the Billing page to view (and download as PDF) past invoices and other billing-related info.
  • NSFW posts no longer appear in Spotlight (best effort, anyway)
  • Pagecord is now running on Ruby 4.0.5
  • Introduced new contextual help dialogs on the New/Edit Page and Settings > Navigation screens.
  • YouTube embeds now use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain youtube-nocookie.com.
  • Spotlight now favours fresher posts by limiting trending posts to the last 10 days.
  • The Pagecord editor now uses sentence auto-capitalisation where supported on mobile.
  • The Help Guide has been brought up to date with latest features and better examples with images in some cases.
  • Japanese language translation has been improved thanks to @egroendal.
  • Bandcamp embeds are now cached for improved performance.
  • Charts should be a lot faster now when you've been Hacker News front-paged and get 100,000 unique page views.
